I am unsure how Nordstrom train their staff in being courtesy and handling customer issues. It appears that they are not well train on both processes. The shoe department associate did not make the effort to find out on how to resolve the issue (in my case handle the refund right the first time…maybe ask another associate) instead of sending me to the Service Bar. Additionally, Nordstrom should train their associates not to be rude (snatching the credit card from my hand). Horrible experience…would not recommend shopping at this store.

• Went back to the Service Bar and was greeted by the same associate when I first entered the store. The sale associate again indicated that any available can assist with the returns. I clarified that the shoe department associate did not know how to handle the tax amount refund. He was busy a customer. When it was my turn for the return, the Service Bar associate was grumpy as he indicated that he could not process the tax at the Service Bar (as if I created this situation). It must be processed at the shoe department as he has to reverse and redo the transaction.

• Once we arrived at the shoe department, the Service Bar associate explained to the shoe department associate on how to process the refund for online purchases. While the refund process was taking place, the shoe department associated reminded me again that he didn’t know how to process the refund (“see told you I didn’t know how to process the tax”). Additionally, I pull my credit card out in anticipation to complete the refund transaction. The shoe department associate snatched the credit card from my hand (without asking me) when the Service Bar asked which method was used for the refund. The whole process/ ordeal took almost an hour to complete the refund transaction on a Tuesday afternoon and there were very few customers at the store.

• Went to the Service Bar for the return and the sale associate indicated that any available sales associate can handle the return as he was helping a customer.

Went in search for a Christmas present and received excellent customer service by Kaitlen and Monique in the 3rd, floor women's bedroom wear department. They both assisted by trying on some garments to help me with my buying decisions. Thank you Monique for your extra efforts and Kaitlin for holding my items until my return. Part 2, came back to pick up my purchased products and Kaitlin walked my gifts to my vehicle for me. (I'm on crutches). Thank you for your update and consideration.

The service we received today while shopping was exceptional. No one just pointed in the general direction where we may find what we wanted, they took us there and then found what we were looking for. It was awesome!

I went to this store to return an online purchased item and was greeted with long wait and rude sales associates. To summarize, here is the account of my experience:

I have been a loyal Nordstrom's customer since 1984. I wanted a handbag that they did not have in stock but was in stock at another Nordstrom's store ( about 45 minutes away). I asked if they would have it sent to their Pleasanton store for me to pick up in two days since I live two hours away and would be in the area that day. Their female manager by the name of Herman said it would cost me an additional $15 to have it brought to their store. I asked if they would waive the fee due to my tenure as a loyal Nordstrom's customer (33 years) and she said NO. What has happened to their customer service? I told the Mgr that Amazon would deliver to my house for free by Wednesday as I had just checked on line but wanted to buy from Nordstrom's. She said sorry can't do. I hung up and ordered it from Amazon with two day free Prime shipping.

My soon to be 92yr old mother needed a few items for her surprise birthday tea party in August. We were able to get a sweater, bra and shoes with expert help. This store has the best employees hands down! No wonder my mother loves shopping there.
