I agree with Chris Didato's post. They're a crook. I bought a 5 year maintenance plan. When I take my bike for a tune up, they would always find a way to say that I need a new chain, brake pads even if I only rode it for 100 miles.
I would not recommend going here for service.
Great guys, as is the store in Sacramento. Helpful, expert, friendly, welcoming, generous.
As we got ready to go, our car had over heated and the battery died. This left us stranded and not sure what to do. Jon Finney (another sales associate there) helped us by first trying to jump our car. After several minutes in the heat, it wasn't charging so he made sure we had a tow available. He also offered to let us to stay in the store while we figured out nest steps.
JT Toepel was great. He helped my wife and I pick out bikes on the hottest day of the year and did it with a smile while answering all our questions and looking at different colors (and letting us test ride some). He went out with us to talk about different types, options, colors and so on. He was super friendly and made us feel excited about the bikes. While not having the color we wanted in the types we liked, we promised to come back once we decided on a final version.
We love this, and will be coming back. Again I just wanted to say thank you and to an awesome staff who made an a bad day actually something to think great about!
So fellow bikers, first off I come all the way from Stockton to this fine establishment and for GOOD reason, these guys treat me like family and actually care about my bike as if it was theirs!!! They have been responsible for many wide faced grins!!! The team here is super friendly and helpful and I won't go any where else because of the love I get from these guys! Enuff said! Ride on!!!
Mike's Bikes in Pleasanton is pure awesome! Let me tell you about the story my wife and I had there:
Took my old mountain bike in that had not been professionally tuned in 5 years for the $99 tune up. Service person said they would call when it was ready-they didn't. I called a week later and was told it was done. As I rode it home I noticed that the derailleurs, the issue I had taken it in for, were still not working. Additionally, the front wheel was still as off true as it had been when I took it in. I took it back in and they fixed the derailleur issue (hence the two stars), however I really don't believe that they did much actual work on the bike since it didn't ride any differently from when I took it in
